I have spoken to their call centre staff and the housing association more than once about these issues however, sadly, I am yet to see any improvement in two years.
One representative in particular is passive-aggressive and rude on the phone, she becomes tense and irritable if you ask her to clarify any details or ask any questions which means she has to check information on their computer system, this has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME I have had to speak to her. She fails to conceal her annoyance, if she is trying, yet I'm pretty sure that answering these basic questions is part of her job duties. I actually get nervous when she answers my calls now and if I have questions I call back and speak to another staff member or call the housing association for clarification of details rather than incite her irritation. I considered naming and shaming her but it seems to me that if she behaves in this manner she needs kindness even more than I do, this is not the behaviour of someone who is happy in their life. I hope that whatever it is that is causing her to be this sensitive and angry it gets better very soon, for her sake and the Jeakins Weir customers.
I will say this though. People have precious possessions, medical and psychological conditions, pets and children which need to be organised and secured before work takes place in their home and they have a right to know when the work is taking place and what the work entails before someone shows up on the doorstep (late probably) with a bag of tools. Particularly when the work is being done on behalf of a housing association who have many mentally ill, physically ill and aged residents. It's quite upsetting to be treated poorly simply because you wish to be prepared. Having demonstrated empathy towards the un-named call centre employee it would be nice to have that empathy returned in the future.
I will say though, the manual labourers they employ are LOVELY, PROFESSIONAL and their work is always of a high quality. This company just misses the mark when it comes to their communications.
