DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London ExCeL

I enjoyed my stay at the doubletree with one small negative. The welcome was great, quick check in and the welcoming staff were very attentive. The bar was also very good and the food served was lovely. The room was great, with a great view of the docklands and incoming planes landing. The only downside was the comfort of the bed. The mattress was a coil sprung mattress i would expect at budget end hotels, not doubletree by hilton. It won't stop me using them again, but I would suggest their purchasing team look at better options as, currently, the Premier inns mattresses and bed comfort are far better.

We visited the property for a weekend with my friend. I had just lost my mother so my friend informed the reception to surprise me with a few things to help with the mourning, and we ended up receiving so much support in this tough time. We could not have been more touched by how amazing we were treated with all the help and kindness of the staff! Din from reception very thoughtfully went above and beyond to help ease my current loss, and we are delighted to have met him. The rooms are great, perfectly clean, with a very nice bar downstairs. Totally recommend this place for anybody visiting, it is by far the best experience of London we have had! Thank you :)
