Never in my life have I come across such a rude unhelpful care home manager, her staff are more important than the residents. I was refused entry to visit my mum today because my LFT was done last night and not this morning, I have visited before doing my LFT the evening before without problems. My visits give my mum a little peace of happiness in a very unhappy existence. I have had issues with her before when doing an outdoor visit and bringing my dog, this again was unacceptable, but acceptable to have a Pat dog visit the home and a lamb sitting on my mothers lap. I just wonder what actually goes on behind closed doors. I will be informing CQC as her attitude is totally unacceptable and to be spoken to like a child is worrying, how does she actually speak to the residents? Who cannot actually defend themselves.

My father was in this care home for a very short time, our telephone calls were limited to once a day and facetime calls twice a week. I started to become concerned as the day before my father went into this home he was singing and dancing but he then began not talking and speaking in a tiny whisper and very husky. Everytime we called they always said he was asleep which was becoming a concern of mine. I raised my concerns to Sue the Care home manager that i was worried about him and she said he was perfectly ok... He was isolating in his room for 14 days as had just gone to the home. To my horror 10 days later he was rushed to hospital with a kidney injury due to severe dehydration. We were called as he was end of life! somehow after 5 days he pulled through but we were advised to not send him back. We spoke to the nurse in charge and asked for the care plan and the fluid charts..She advised they didn't think fluid charts were necessary!!!!Not a great experience
