Updated Review: May 2021 Decided to go back and try this place on a sunny Saturday. We sat outside, as per covid rules, but noticed some people not adhering to mask wearing. Three out of four of us order ribs but they weren't good. The meat was really tough. The boil in the bad ribs you get at supermarkets were better. The other person had fish and chips but she said the batter was really spongy rather than crispy. We're trying to support local businesses however I don't think we'll be returning again unfortunately. December 2020: On entering it was hard not to notice that the place smells like a working mans club from 20 years ago. The smell of cigarette smoke was very strong. Not sure how this is possible given smoking indoors has been banned for over 10 years... Food was nice. We only had sandwiches but they were good value. Prawn baguette for ~8 and Cheese for 6. There was a good amount of prawns too. Covid rules - tables were spaced well and there appeared to be arrows for a one way system, however they seemed to point to a door which said "No Entry". Slightly confusing. Although they enforce rules such as masks, they seem to allow multiple households to mix. I'd like to go back to try a proper meal, so I'll update my review when we get opportunity to do so.

This pub sits as part of a horse riding facility, though I don't know if it's owned by the same person. We came to watch my daughter's birthday party riding lesson and had hoped to have a drinks and some snacks. The owner (the most unhelpful and rude man) told us we had to all individually buy a meal... at 1500hrs...if we were to watch. He'd put curtains up so this was the only option available... We left as we'd rather spend our money where the owner welcomed guests. Don't come here if you want a friendly reception. It's rubbish.

Unfortunately, it seems that the lease on this pub/restaurant is up and the venue closes on 17/10/2021. Hopefully a new buyer can be found because this is a really lovely location and venue. OK, it's not cheap, but on a beautiful summer's day, sitting outside, overlooking the fields and horses...your cold beer tastes extra special. I had the pleasure of chatting with the farm and business owner's son, who was really welcoming and informative. By the way, on the last night before closing, they are having music and food...I believe it's ticket only? I'll try to get my name down. Highly recommended.
