We don't dine out very often and as it was a special occasion, we decided to support a local business and go to the Olive Well. We were a party of 5 and we arrived at 7.30pm. Once we had ordered our food, we waited 45 minutes for two starters. We didn't get our mains until nearly 10pm! By this time, we were almost ready to leave and not finish our meal. At no point did anyone offer us any explanation or apology for the wait. I was extremely disappointed in our experience and won't be returning. What should have been a pleasant evening was spoilt by a lack of communication by the staff at the Olive Well. If we had been informed of the wait and maybe offered a free drink I think it would have helped, although the wait for the food was excessive. By the time it came, we didn't really want it anymore as we'd waited so long. The only good thing was the food, as most of it was very nice.
