Made me wait to "check personal messages" despite the fact a queue had formed behind me. All I wanted to do was pay a small amount of money in and be on my way, but it took longer to check the messages than it did to pay my money in, and it felt like I wasn't given a choice and that I had to stay even though I didn't want to. I have anxiety and am on the Autistic Spectrum, so behaviour like this does not help my situation, even if their intentions are good. If I could have paid in my money with a self-service machine then I would have done, but the branch is too small to accommodate one.

It cuts both ways. Like most face to face services these days, it really depends on who serves you on the day and don't forget your manner and friendliness makes a big difference. Don't expect people to be friendly if your rude or sour faced.
