It's nice for a MTB ride but it's sometimes a struggle to actually find the trails and nice places to ride. Especially when you first get there and have to make a decision on to where to go.

Excellent place to spend the day. Relaxing Views. One of my favourite places to calm down from all the weekly gained stress. Just go in to the forest find a spot that's right for you, and enjoy the calming nature.

It's not a very old forest but if you venture a bit further in, it can be quite nice and unspoiled. However, just of late, the forestry people have chopped down loads and loads of trees.. Thus changing the forest - scape significantly. It's far more open in many places and of course all the stumps and wood - chopping debris doesn't look nice at all. Also watch your dogs, cos they can hurt their legs if they are not the careful type whilst they're exploring the undergrowth which is littered with fallen branches etc. The works have also partially left big ruts in paths, which can make it extra muddy, wet or awkward to negotiate. I'm not complaining because it's a managed forest, I'm just saying it's not very nice for visitors!

Lovely place to walk anytime of year. Follow the white horse walk to get up amongst the forest. Superb views across to Rathfinny and Alfriston. Heavy logging due to ash dieback at the moment. Toilets and a good size car park.
