Gull Rocks Bar & Coffee House

Popped in for lunch, bleak cafe vibe interior (doesnt match the prices!) not to mention it was absolutely freezing cold inside. Menu is very small/limited a vegetarian or vegan would struggle here! I had the lamb kofta flatbread. Flatbread was so chewy I only ate half, salad on-top was obviously from a pre chopped bag and the lamb was cheap tasting as it was more herbs than lamb. My friend had the fish brioche roll, it was cold inside and looked like a frozen square fish burger you get from the shop. Also why does it come on a card box? But the kofta had a plate? You have to pay for ketchup & mayonnaise which is a joke and you have to donate 1 to have your bottle refilled! (Water is a legal requirement so I dont know how they get away with this) 11 for a jacket potato with beans and cheese is laughable! PS: they obviously use other peoples food photos onlinefalse advertisement yikes! Shame because the 2 staff members were very pleasant and attentive

Avoid scam car park! Had to buy coffee from pub to get change as they wouldnt give me change for free, used change to pay for parking. A month later we get a fine in the post.

What a wonderful location, we felt so lucky to have stumbled across this place. Beach side and a sunny day. A great location to eat. We parked up, but sadly could not pay for our car parking, the machine did not accept debit card, we were 55p short to pay with cash (the car park does not belong to the cafe/bar). Tried to call the help line, no reception, not the bars fault. We went into the bar to ask if they could help, could we buy our food and drinks and pay over and be given a 1 back in cash so we could pay parking and eat? ......No couldn't be done. Is there any way you could help us? ......no sorry. We couldn't just leave, our registration had been recorded. What a situation. I explained this to the young woman behind the bar. Then my husband tried to ask another member of staff but got the same response. Now, I realise you will have been asked about this a million times, people may not be polite, try it on, its the end of the season, you're all tired. However, working with people, I have been able to work out the givers from the takers. Working in hospitality, I would have said yes, I can help you, because as we all know a good review is better than some of the terrible reviews you have received. People come back, they bring their friends. They spend their money with you. This week we're part of a large group that will be meeting up to eat together. We thought this would be the place for us. Its not. So we'll take our group elsewhere. Lucky for us one of the customers gave us 55p and I gave her a first class stamp in return ! Thanks for your non help, you're very lucky that people will come back to you time and time again based on your location and not for the warm welcome and yes I know, you couldn't care less what I think, but I wrote this for me, not especially for you. #bekind Incidently we didn't eat.
