We first came to this hidden gem with son, his partner and our grandson when my wife found them by accident in 2017. Our first trip was only for four days in October. Weather was fantastic, beach less than five minutes away and walking distance to Croyde. Sounds busy?? Absolutely not.......there are three lodges in one sheltered secluded area with a fourth on its own. The,odges are in private grounds with gardens, their own decking and the suns on the deck all day, even in October. They are quiet, private, no passing traffic and plenty of private secure parking. The lodges are spacious, immaculate, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped with en suite and a separate bath/showe and WC. They have washer/drier, dishwasher, central heating and fully equipped kitchen. Theres a private path at the rear across a playing field to the beach and sand dunes, plus a short pavement walk to the beach at the end of the drive. As a disabled person I can be on the beach in 10-15 minutes. Theres also a path to the village where there are pubs, restaurants a d a few shops. Again, I can do this in 15 minutes. Unfortunately after our first trip I lost my wife through illness, but with my son and grandson I continued to book an autumn break in October. Each year the weathers been fantastic allowing us to use the beach and even get in the water with boards after the summer sun. Its a massive, safe surfers beach with excellent waves as well as being safe for grandson to use his bodyboard. Although we do have overseas trips Im already booked for summer and autumn 2022 and waiting for 2023 dates.... as this is a really relaxing and peaceful place, but close to everything you need. If you want to go out in the car, theres so much to do and see. Weve rented many places in the UK for relaxing surf holidays but these lodges are the best weve had. Add to that the open, supportive and friendly hosts and youll have the perfect break or holiday.
