A couple of issues that reduced the quality of our stay. The first and most infuriating was the leaf blower at 7am. Incredulous about this one as the area being cleared on a Sunday doesnt open til 10am. Which leads me to our next point, nothing opens for visiting guests, it does say self catering style accommodation but a tiny fridge in the room with no fresh milk, just a couple of UHT samples and tea/coffee - thats it! Nowhere does breakfast so had to travel to Grantham. Not ideal. In the evening everything seemed to close at 4pm - on a Saturday! There was a bar but as we were staying with our children again not ideal. Room itself frustrating as plenty of furniture in room but nowhere to put anything. House is filled with all sorts of accessories and ornaments (all with the prices on BTW-like you are staying in a rather gaudy shop) but again simple dressing table or side table filled with trinkets so you can only keep your stuff in suitcase and hang up a few items on the hooks on the wall?! Then the general maintenance of the place, cobwebs a plenty, we had a floorboard loose that my husband hurt his foot on. Next came the mirrored tiled bathroom that meant from the bed you could see each other sat on the toilet. How lovely. Again no simple thought in the bathroom either for a towel rail or toilet roll holder. Just stick that on the floor shall we?! Radiator needed to be turned off in room on first arrival but TRV didnt work so couldnt then turn it back on. Great. Top it off was the tiny motel TV. About as big as an IPad. Embarrassing really as Id spent the afternoon wandering around the opulent home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland, that they couldnt stretch to decent sized TVs in the bedrooms shows they prefer to sell stuff and make a few quid rather than spend it. Wont be returning. Wouldnt recommend.

We've just returned from a two night stay in one of the bell tents. The bell tents are fabulous! We were 5 adults sharing - two in the double bed, three on the floor on the supplied folding beds. All bedding and towels are included, as are cooking equipment, wood, matches, and firelighters for the fire bowl, and tea and coffee. Each tent has a key to its own lockable cubicle with a sink, toilet and shower in the shower block, and there are dish washing stations at the end of the block. Everything was great! Spotless facilities, lovely site, and a well equipped glamping experience. The Engine Yard nearby has a bar, cafe, pizza, and a few other businesses and a small kids play area. We've had a brilliant stay. Would definitely recommend this place and would visit again.
