A few shops - the cheese shop is recommended - plus guided tours of the mill buildings. Entry is free, though tours and parking are charged for. Theres construction work going on at the moment to bring water-power back to the mills. Gift shop, cafe plus antique and bric--brac. Dont miss out the Wharf - the cafe there is excellent with outdoor seating next to the canal.

Lovely accessible walk along the Cromford Canal. We were very glad of this as we have a very old dog. Went into Cromford Mills after and particularly enjoyed the Cromford Cheese shop. We bought lots of cheese all of which was delicious. Highly recommended.

Called today for a coffee at the coffee shop only to find it was closed. Not sure if it is temporary or long term. We had a look around the shops, which are very interesting, with antiques etc. Managed to get caught in a traffic jam on our way out due to a road accident, so not an ideal day.

It was a horrible day weather wise and we had family visiting. So we took everyone to Cromford Mills which is ideal for a rainy day. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Allan is a treasure trove of information. A brilliant experience where you can easily imagine the life of a worker there. Strongly recommended. In good weather you could pop for a cuppa and a bite at the cafe across the road, or bring some bread and treat your self to some of the beautiful cheese and pickles or chutneys sold there. Can be half a day or a full day. Most certainly one of the best attractions in the area.
