Pip Squeak & Wilfred - Children's Shoe Shop

Please note- this review concerns the Culcheth/Croft shop and NOT the new one in Stockton Heath. I haven't visited the new shop in Stockton Heath. I have bought my children's school shoes from PS&W for many years and have always been grateful for the knowledgeable staff and their good stock of shoes and sizes. However, today's visit, with the shop under new ownership, was a disappointing disaster. The ladies/fitters were really lovely and knowledgeable but to their embarrassment and my inconvenience, there simply wasn't the necessary stock of shoes (not just for us but for other families as well)- so on my return home I had to order from a shop in Kidderminster. If the owner could order stock in, then there would be plenty of customers to buy it- especially school shoes at this time of year. Instead, I had to take my custom and money elsewhere.

They've moved! New address is 112 London Rd, Stockton Heath, Warrington WA4 6LG. We have always been happy with our visits and always ended up with quality well fitted shoes.

Bought shoes from here in the past and always been really pleased. Came when the website said they were open and there was a hand note on the door saying they were shut for the day. Messaged before coming today and they said they were open at 10. They didn't turn up. Don't know how they stay afloat if they're never open when advertised.

I'm not sure how this business is staying afloat. They are never open on time - if at all when they say they are. I've also been in peak children's shoe sales time, to find they've shut the shop, so that all 3 members of staff could have lunch at the same time. The neighbouring businesses pop out, to tell you how unreliable the shop is too! They are surviving on the reputation of the old ownership, where the staff were incredibly knowledgeable and the shop was both easy to access and accessible with small children. The new place is nothing in comparison and quite often it is a wasted journey.

Just been to pip squeak at culcheth, brilliant shop the lady who served us was very helpful & patient. We can highly recommend.
