The Mitcham History Notes website says that this building, in the style of mock Tudor, was constructed in around 1927/28, replacing an older building. The Crown Inn had been here since the mid 1800s, and possibly earlier. In more recent years it has been extended into a hotel and restaurant which is called the Casuarina Tree. I asked the landlord whether the pub was now called the Casuarina Tree. He said no, it retains the name of the Crown Inn. From entering from the street there is a small seating area fenced off from the pavement. Inside to the left and to the right is seating for bar customers. The bar itself is on the left hand side, and seating with tables to the right hand side and further in are for restaurant customers. However if there are only a few restaurant customers, those seats can also be used for bar customers. They have Cobra on draught, which I find is a nice refreshing lager. I have eaten there, and I found the food to be tasty. There is a car park at the back. The Mitcham Tramstop is close by, with bus stops being slightly further away for the 118 and 280 routes. For the 201, thats a bit further away down the Morden Road. There is a Nisa store nearby which is handy.

As much a restaurant as a pub but the food looked and smelled wonderful. The barman was pleasant and the Guinnes was lovely but no ale.
