Turning Point Academy

I used to attend the gatherings for new muslims when the sister was running it from her house. She had minimal support and resources but she showed so much kindness and love that you always felt so welcome. This is a sister I would always go to if I needed help or advice or had met a new revert or someone exploring Islam. She would always offer warmth and good advice and go above and beyond to help. Fast forward 10 years or more. The Turning Point has become a beacon for new muslims wanting a place to go and learn the basics of Islam like praying and the 5 pillars. I particularly loved the Quran reading and how you are able to learn Arabic from scratch. They have good teachers and they have excellent sisters that will offer basic talks with questions and answers. You also get a lovely lunch and the chance to socialise in a non judgemental environment. Also...also...they have a creche! So if you have a baby or young child you can leave them there to freely relax...I remember when my daughter was 1 this helped me so much and I really always looked forward to this time for myself. I would recommend the Turning Point to anyone interested in Islam or new muslims.

So relieved to have a found a comfortable and non-judgmental environment where Islamic knowledge can be attained at the students chosen pace with full encouragement. A supportive and positive group where Im happy to have made many dear friends. Thank you !

A really friendly and welcoming place. Great location! When sessions were being held here I felt really welcomed and relaxed. I really hope classes start up here again soon!
