Holiday Inn Express Crewe, an IHG Hotel

From the outside the hotel looks totally unappealing and it looks drab and dreary which is the running theme throughout the hotel. The room was tiny with hardly any space to swing a mouse let alone a cat. Bed was comfortable which is the only positive thing that I can say about the room. Breakfast was a joke. The plates were the size of side plates which presumably is an effort on behalf of the hotel to stop customers having too much of the complimentary breakfast. Choice of food was very limited and wasn't particularly tasty. Car parking was okay but was not free. All in all hugely dissapointed

Nice enough experience for a budget hotel. Clean rooms with hot water and good pressure in the shower & free wifi. Comfortable bed and basic breakfast. Some improvements on the breakfast could include: More fresh fruit including bananas. Individual pots of yogurts rather than one large bowl for multiple guests to spoon from. A selection of spreads and jams for toast and again individual portions rather than one large jar of Nutella for sharing and butter. The hotel is walking distance to the train station. There is a McDonald's right outside and a small Tesco express across the road.
