Went in today to make a payment, I waited nearly 45 minutes to be seen and it turns out I had forgotten my Id, when I asked if there was any other options to prove my identity the employee got incredibly aggressive and condescending with me and asked me to leave.

The service in all high street banks has changed dramatically since I opened an account here 20 odd years. I'm not sure if my timing was simply lucky but even with much fewer staff, I've seen a personal banker almost immediately on two occasions this year. My requests and queries were dealt with quickly, efficently and in a friendly manner. I went in dreading a long wait and was extremely pleasantly surprised.

Very poor experience. I wanted someone to simply check one of my cards and reset or order and new one. 2 staff doing meet and greet and 2 dealing with customers plus one teller. Waited 10 minutes and then asked how long roughly I needed to wait. Ended up getting a load of unnecessary grief and when I asked for the persons name and position she replied with her names but said my position is anything you what it to be while walking away. very very poor customer service. Clearly this lady might be good at her job but very poor at customer management. I suggested they get more staff if the wait is so long. Perhaps they could use one of the meet and greet staff to serve customers and only have one person to meet and greet.

I opened an account at this branch nearly 50 years ago at that time banks and their managers were pillars of society now they are the pits. The opening times are completely ridiculous making utilisation very difficult. This is further exacerbated by the fact that there is only one teller desk which results in long queues and hence wasted time. The floating help for self service terminals is dressed in denim jeans and white trainers which is so unprofessional. Everyone hides behind rules and procedures with no real customer care. In the old days people made decisions, now its computer says no!

Been very long customer with Barclays, I come to the branch for simply transferring some euros into my euros account, in another branch this generally takes about 6 minutes, however despite the branch not been busy, seems they they have a different protocol after 40 minutes waiting this could still be processed. Very disappointed.
