An absolutely delightful stay in this tastefully decorated and well-maintained cottage, situated in the lively but tranquil Northumbrian fishing village of Craster. The marine-themed garden was brimful of sparrows and a hedgehog - which were well-fed throughout our entire stay. The kitchen was suitably equipped and the newly-erected orangery provided a splendid setting in which to consume the complimentary bottle of Sauvignon whilst spending endless afternoons gazing out to sea. The cottage also now has fibre broadband, which we found to be lightning-fast, with no black spots to be found. Of particular convenience to us all was the proximity to the nearest pub, the Jolly Fisherman, which was not only convenient to my grandfather and his trips to the 4:30 club - to which our friendly hosts had invited him - but also catered a marvellous lunch for us to meet with a colleague of mine and her husband on Wednesday when they were visiting the village. Other notable sites nearby include the castles at Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh, Cragside House and Gardens nr. Rothbury and a boat trip to the Farne Islands, with its array of bird life. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is well worth a visit - in fact, try visiting in the hours between the causeways opening times, when there is less of a tourist presence. Thus, I have no apprehension in awarding this cottage five stars.
