I have had a first rate service from both Mark and Eimer over many years, most recently a spot on diagnosis by Mark and speedy referral to hospital to get a problem fixed.

Second time using this opticians. Very happy with the eye test and get on very well with the varifocal lenses. Disappointed with the fitting appointment - upon arrival I felt like I wasn't expected and when I asked for some cleaning fluid, which I got free at my first visit, I was told I either needed to go home and bring back my 4 1/2 year old bottle to be re-filled (a 50 minute round trip) or pay 7.50. After having paid over 600 for 1 eye test and 1 pair of glasses I expected to receive everything I needed.

I am thrilled with my new varifocals. I have been a customer of Hammond Optical for around 20 years, Mark Hammond commented that my client number shows that. I love that they are a local family business and I get continuity of service. Billie the dispensing optician was so brilliant in helping me make the right choices. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I will always be grateful to Mark Hammond for his care and thoroughness whenever I have a sight test or need to consult either him or Eimer over sight issues. I have been a client of theirs since 2007 having regular eye tests and could not wish for a more professional service than that provided by this practice. I've worn spectacles most of my life, am now in my eighties and still drive many thousands of miles including across Europe so it is essential for me to be able to see well in all conditions.

Been a customer for a while. Walked in to buy new glasses and although there was no one there, I was asked to leave because someone is about to come for a fitting. Only after I pointed out there was no one there the patronising receptionist kind of allowed me to stay. Very odd, unpleasant and unfortunate. Last time I had a conversation about supporting small high street vendors. Seems like this vendor does not need my business.
