CODS production, this evening, an adaptation of the TV show "Black Adder" contains some outstanding performances and some memorable 'funnies'. The theatre itself lacks the investment that the Tenterden school theatre has been afforded by the Kent County Council.

The Queens Hall Theatre is a large -small venue seating over 350 people. It is technically incredibly well equipped and produces its own upscale shows as well as adding value to touring productions giving the customer a better experience than if they had seen the show elsewhere, especially locally! The Bar stocks a good selection of drinks at a value not normally found in theatres, and the atmosphere in the foyer is nice with dark blue and warm lighting, the foyer clearly doubles up as a canteen during the day and the vastness of this cannot be escaped, but the theatre makes a good effort to dress this space and give it a cozier feel for evening performances. The Auditorium is large and long, in a traditional proscenium theatre / dance hall style, with a balcony and side boxes giving a grand feel to the space but with a slightly dated colour scheme reminiscent of it's last full refurbishment. The main seating bank is retractable which allows the space to open up and reveal a beach wood dance floor. The toilet facilities are a little small for a venue this size and can become over busy on sell out shows. Overall this is a wonderful venue that is technically very capable and clearly strives to offer it's customers and community the best value entertainment it can.
