EDIT: ICELAND Store Cramlington inside of Manor Walks Shopping and Leisure Centre. This little ICELAND is a great small shop.. In the corner on it's own. Now it's closing down: After asking about I know it's been there as long as I can recall... My mam & dad even remember shopping in ICELAND which has been there as long as he & she can remember. when my dads side of the family moved to Cramlington Manor Walks Shopping Centre as it was then was barely anything the Co-op was where ASDA is Safeway was where Sainsbury's now basically stands only it used to go right the way down to where The Yorkshire Trading Company is now. The shopping centre was mainly outside up at the top in them days you can actually see where the original entrance was today if you walk on in to the main Mall Entrance up at the Sainsbury's end and walk down as you get so far you'll notice a line in the floor where the tiles change colour/pattern to the original Manor Walks flooring the colour scheme in them day's was burgundy & silver with Hugo the hippo mascot. So the flooring matched the colour scheme. In Fact, you can even see reliques of the original style lighting that was used in the shape of the original logo for Manor Walks it was sort of 2 Diamonds but it was really just an M with a W underneath it and the lights matched this along the walls they are sort of warm white with little bulbs. There is so much history surrounding this shopping centre both inside and outside you would never know unless you'd been here to see the changes throughout time... Now as for ICELAND it's leaving us due to them opening the much bigger brother of ICELAND the food warehouse where Argos once stood. This does make sense and the last time I was in the mini store as it's now known it's being stripped down so if you're wanting to visit before it goes you have but a couple of days left!
