Gastronomy Cowes

Feel absolutely robbed of my time and money. Live with my wife locally and we always walk past and wish for an occasion where we'd save our pennies and go in. Decided to do this tonight for my wife's birthday. What a mistake. Table all booked for a time and we were told to come back as it wasn't "ready" that's fine, no drama. It's the buildup of events subsequently that make this even more frustrating. We come back and are ignored at the door awkwardly for ten minutes and eventually frantically waved at to sit down. Sit down and order drinks, these arrive 15 minutes later we also asked for water which didnt arrive. We asked for water again on the starters (to no avail) but got third time lucky when asking as the mains arrived, really difficult to grab that from the fridge 10 yards away from our table!! We then order food which doesn't get delivered to our table until 21:55. Our table was booked for 20:30, two new parents with a very rare night off and with our savings left starving. I ordered the "famous sticky chicken" but what I was served was nothing more than oven chicken, chips and half a plate of salad no "sticky" there wasnt any sort of sauce or seasoning for that matter! My disappointment in this absolutely unmeasured, an evening off wasted along with hard earned and saved money for the occasion. I'll never go back here, I'll tell everyone I can not to bother but if I'm being completely fair the home made tortilla chips are absolutely phenomenal. If you are going a plate of those and a beer is all you want! The kebab I'm now eating after this "meal" is really good though so save your cash and time and grab one of those from along the road instead! AVOID.

*Updated* New Brunch menu was amazing. Really tasty and visually stunning. I'm never disappointed when I come here. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food. We had a great time there today (19/12/21) There was 7 of us and we all had different items off the menu & all of it was amazing. I would recommend to anyone that wants to try something a little different with big flavours.
