The Elms Cafe Within Elms Nursery

Obviously change of staff or attitude since the dissenting reviews. A brilliant place for a cycle stop off for coffee and cakes. Made very welcome. Not all cafes are the same. Staff couldn't be more helpful, friendly or obliging. Brought our coffees and cakes out to us. Even asked if we were topped up with water as we left. Nice touch to go the extra mile and much appreciated.

Very poor! Staff completely inflexible and unhelpful. Absolutely no vegan options on the lunch menu, fine - and told there was no way even to get jam and bread, for example. Id advise avoid at all costs! Dietary restrictions: Zero vegan options

Food was good. Need to sort the service and staff attitude a little. Asked for a large flat white with three shots and it arrived with two! Come on! Asked for poached eggs on the English muffin and was told it normally comes with fried but would check! Come on! Interestingly, my cycling friends who I was with who ordered the English breakfast were asked if they wanted fried, poached or scrambled!! Bizarre. Empty sanitiser in the toilet area. When we were queing to pay, a staff member asked if one person could pay next time rather than individually because it would be easier for them! Err, no! We were 10 cyclists bringing good business to a not very busy caf i.e. we were CUSTOMERS. Sort your systems out - it really is not difficult with today's technology. Quite happy to go somewhere else if you would prefer? We have plenty of options.
