I had arranged with Luke for him to remove the solar panels from the roof of the house that my son has bought, so that some roofing work could be carried out. He told me that he had 'let go' his van so could not carry ladders. I arranged for ladders from the roofer, whose scaffold was also being utilised. He turned up, had a look and said that he was unable to disconnect the cables joining the panels together (something to do with the type of connector) and left 'to get another Allen key'. He said that he would be back in 30 minutes. After 90 minutes, he had not returned. After three attempts by me to contact him, he sent me a WhatsApp message to say, "this is a more specialist job and I am not happy to do it." The company name is Complete Solar Solutions which implies a specialism in this field. It seems to me that he had decided that he couldn't do the job within minutes of arrival but had to go through a bit of a charade in order to avoid having to tell me face-to-face. Seems somewhat unprofessional. Fortunately, I was able to arrange for another contractor to send a gang. They had no problems with the connectors and had the job done in an hour in a very professional manner.
