S & F Fencing

My neighbour had a fence built by this company. The first thing they did was damage the water main by digging a hole for a fence post and cutting through the pipe work. After cutting off my water supply they fixed the pipe themselves. They claim they contacted Severn Trent but there is no record of them doing so. Since then ( about 3 weeks ago) we have had really poor water pressure and minimal flow rate. Now I have to get a plumber to sort the problem out . I contacted S and F fencing , a few days after the incident, to complain and they said they would come out and check the repair. They have never been back. My advice is to avoid them completely.

Who to choose? You have to try to work out which reviews come from people who don't know what they're talking about. It's not easy but my father (who was a building contractor for 30 years) recommended Steve having had him for 3 separate fencing jobs. No hesitation in recommending him and his sons - some people don't understand how things need or have to be done but this guy does, believe me. I'm 60 myself and I've had a lot of tradespeople down the years. He makes sure you get the best materials and an appropriate and professional job at a very good price. My next door neighbour is now going to have him to do a whole load of fencing and a big patio... Service: Wood fence installation

Avoid at all cost! Had four fence panels and a gate fitted by Steve, initially everything went smoothly but towards the end he was rushing to leave the job and left the fence unsecured plus I wanted him to trim the timber posts as they were sticking out. Told me he will come back another day. Two weeks later and some bogus stories about being in Bristol and sick at the same time (what are the chances?) he finally called and was getting annoyed that I couldn't be home when it suited him. So he said he will come to finish everything while I'm at work (he accessed my back garden from fields). I came back home to damaged concrete posts, literally whole chunks of concrete were on the ground! When I rang him he was very unpleasant and told me this is how it's done! So I sent him an email with the pictures of damages asking if that's how a brand new fence which i have spent 800 on should look like. He tried to ring me few times but I didn't answer as I wanted everything in writing so I can take it to court. He then replied to my email acknowledging the fact that I'm a paying customer and I'm upset at the state of the fence and offered either to replace the 3 concrete posts he damaged or a refund of 220 (his own calculation of the replacement of the posts and labour). I chose the refund as I didn't want him back in my garden. Sent another email asking when he will transfer the money to which he replied that I need a quote from another contractor! Why on earth would I need another quote if he just offered me a refund for the damages! I will definitely be taking this to court! Very unpleasant man, only cares about money in his pocket! Excellent job within quote. All rubbish removed and site cleaned up including washing the driveway down. Came recommended and highly recommended from me going forward.
