POOR SERVICE - AWFUL BALANCING - BUT NICE CRANK (WHEN IT EVENTUALLY ARRIVES) !! UPDATE jan 2020 added to bottom !! Ordered a steel crank. 20 week delivery. Paid the 50% deposit and signed technical sheet in June 2017. In November I was told it was ready for heat treatment, so paid the remaining 50% as instructed immediately. Then the delivery date kept being moved further and further back. Then hardly any replies to emails or vague responses when I did get one.... no one could tell me where it was, its present status, or a delivery date.... Now when your over 1600 out of pocket, with nothing to show for it, thats a sure way to further upset a customer. Start of January 2018 I issued them 14days to fully refund me, or complete the crank, they did neither. Crankshaft didnt arrive until the start of February. No compensation or discount or even a gesture of good will for the delay despite being outside of the agreed 20 week contract. I started doing a bit of research and this seems to be a common story, also spoke to a few engine builders that strongly advised I got the crank checked for balance as they have had problems with farndons previously. This wasnt something I was expecting to do as the cranks are balanced at farndons, however I decided I had better get it checked (Im lucky to have a guy about an hours drive away with over 40 years experience crankshaft balancing) IT WAS 26g OUT OF BALANCE!! For reference, most cast OE cranks are within 5g. So this is huge, especially on a 9000+rpm race engine. (We was able to get it to within 1g after balancing - an extra service I had to pay for) When confronted about the balancing problem I wasnt offered any form of compensation, nor good will, instead I was completely ignored. In short, do not deal with farndons if you need it within a year, and getting it balanced is a must!! UPDATE JAN 2020!! So I get a phone call from Farndon Engineering earlier this week, according to their database I had a crank from them and they wanted to know if Id like another one! They are presently hitting a 29week delivery target (apparently) To which I of course replied absolutely not!!!! When questioned why, I told them about the lies on delivery time, the vague responses, the horrific balancing , and when I had previously confronted them about the balancing problem I was completely ignored. There was no follow up response to help the situation, no effort to look into what went wrong, no apology. THESE P**S TAKING F**KS ARE THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.

I was always told if you cant say something good about somebody don't say anything. However I will make an exception in this case, this company is bordering on fraudulent, paid money up front, have now waited 15 months and cant get any evidence of anything being done, told lie after lie, getting ready to go legal...... PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID. Whilst their engineering may be of good quality they cannot be trusted to deliver on time. Appalling customer service and zero communication. My crankshaft, was due on February 14th. It has been paid for in full but it is now June 20th and it is still not done. Totally unacceptable. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
