Rob is always an absolute pleasure, shaves my beard off perfectly every time and we always have a delightful chat. I'd be happy to pay the full 22 just for a hot towel around my face in all honesty! I love the music that is on and find it hard sometimes to keep still as I just want to jazz (see what I did there) along to the beat. I also love the retro till and retro phone. I dont think i have looked so forward to having a hair cut. You instantly feel at home with Rob and the team. I live about half an hour away but its always an absolute pleasure to make this journey as the experience is so nice. Rob is the only man I trust with my hair and beard! The precious.. After reading numerous 5 star reviews I decided to give Dashing Blades a visit. I booked with the owner Rob, who on the website claims to love working with unkept hair which is why I decided to go with him, as my hair was very long and curly. If you have thick curly hair please DO NOT visit this barber! Although the owner Rob is very nice and welcoming and makes an effort to chat, he completely lacks any kind of skill when giving a haircut. I asked him not to take too much off the top as I wanted to keep my curls, and a 2 around the sides. Theres hardly any hair left on the top of my head, most of my curls are gone and its very uneven. The sides are also very poorly done, completely uneven trim all the way around. Of all the haircuts Ive had, this has been the worst. There was really no effort to try and feel out my hair to understand how it sits and no effort to separate the different parts of my hair which every other barber Ive had has done. Before he started cutting, he didnt even apply any water to soften the hair - you dont just dry cut curls!! Rob just didnt seem like he knew what he was doing at all and seemed unsure and uncomfortable the whole way through the cut. If Rob didnt feel comfortable cutting curly hair he should have just been honest and said he didnt have the experience or skill to do so, instead of butchering what was very nice hair. Overall a disappointing service and Id strongly recommend anyone with curly hair to look elsewhere. Service: Curly hair
