This time it wasn't so much the carers, but the management. My personal experience began with seeing posters put up on emergency exit doors with my mums name on them, telling her not to open (I was told the alarms became 'annoying')
I witnessed a manager verbally abuse a resident, then turn her impatience towards me when I intervened. I immediately raised my concern with the Home Manager, Shona. This complaint, in my mind, has still not been resolved! MASH just simply stopped replying to my emails!
Our relationship ended after a dubious fall, with varying accounts of what happened, but mum sustained 2 fractures to her arm.
I've realised now with Care UK, that when the going gets tough (with you or your loved one) they decide they 'cannot meet your expectations', or loved ones 'needs' They simply give you 28 days notice to leave and if you are self-funded you have little rights. So, if you are lucky enough to be able to visit your family member often, and unless they sit happily pointed at a tv, you're in for emotionally draining ride, with no support and precious little advice.
