Amberley Lodge Care Home - Care UK

I thought I should give another view of the care home. My mother has been here now for 6 months. During that time my wife and I have visited many times per week. My bother, Daughters, granddaughters have also visited. We all think its a good home with caring staff and have never witnessed any issues to date. Mums care has been good and we have been kept informed all the time. It isnt as "flashy" as some other care homes, but we believe its ideal for mum. I have witnessed carers occasionally stopping a resident (they all have dementia) from going walkabout but that seems to be for their own safety and safety of others. Personally I have never heard any abuse between staff or staff and residents. Everyone's views are different, but we believe we made the right choice for mum.

Appalling!! My dear mother spent three months on the nursing floor of this 'care home'. I was fortunate enough to live close by to be able to pop in regularly. This is what I personally witnessed: Numerous trip hazards Misadministration of medication Lack of personal care Carers asleep on duty Carers preventing residents from leaving the lounge Verbal abuse Lack of empathy to residents. When our family raised my concerns, I was basically called a liar (what could I possibly achieve by making things up!!?) and eventually told that the home, "could no longer meet our families expectations" and we were given 28 days notice to leave!!?? The Home Manager, Azalea (who initially delivers an eloquent sales pitch) told me that I was not coming to visit my mother, but to 'scrutinize' her care home!!?? Maybe Care UK should endeavour to scrutinize their homes more thoroughly, and not simply get rid of the problem!! CAMPAIGN FOR CCTV's IN CARE HOMES!!

The nurses who work here have a culture of harrasing the carers , Some of the senior care assistant are rude, even the males cares who have been there for over 5years are trouble some. There is a trouble. Nursing homes are terrible places to work in.many of this homes are not fit for purpose.
