I visited my brother Brian William Gardner who is suffering advanced dementia at Manor House on 31st May 2018. This was my first visit and I was so impressed with the level of care but more importantly how much genuine affection was shown to my brother. In spite of his difficulties he was obviously content in his new surroundings and still showed a touch of his old sense of humour. He is encouraged to help with potting and planting flowers - gardening has always been his pleasure in life. To live so close to Market Harborough where we were both born, and to have the 'Harborough Mail' each day gives him such a lift mentally I know. I met and spoke to many members of the staff and was moved by their fondness for Brian in what must always be very demanding circumstances. I walked Brian in a wheelchair around the village on a beautiful sunny afternoon and I cannot think of more pleasant surroundings. So thank you to Julia Lloyd and the rest of the staff.
