Really liked the church. Comparing years very well presented inside. Nice, or surprisingly rather, addition were welcoming sheep.

The Church of St Catherine in Tugford consists of a 12th century nave with a 14th chancel and tower. There are both small Norman and Early English windows in the north wall of the nave. The chandeliers in the nave were very low, so my standard straight on nave photo is frustratingly off centre. The chancel features reticulated tracery in the east window, several ornate tomb recesses outside and an ornately floriated tympanum above the blocked-up priests door. The front of the west end gallery in panelled with tracery, most likely from the medieval rood screen. There is no road access to the church, it is accessed across a field by the junction. Look out for the sign on the gate.

Interesting church to visit. It's the only church I've visited that has no path to the door. You walk across a field of sheep. Another of the churches in this area with sheela na gigs this time with a pair, just inside, on either side of the door and above head height.
