St Margarets Church in Abdon is built on 12th century foundations but little of the early fabric remains. Renovations and extensions in the 17th and 19th century lengthened the nave, removed the west gallery and added more windows. The font is a simple Norman tub. The only original window is in the south wall of the chancel. The 14th century, Decorated Gothic window still contains a few small fragments of medieval stained glass. The summer of 1999 saw efforts to renew the roof of the church, including replacing some portions of the timbers. The most noticeable of these is the large crossbeam separating the chancel and nave.
