We were gifted the Wowcher one night stay in a standard room with dinner and breakfast. The main house is nice- eccentric taxidermy and photography cover the walls, the neighbouring building contains the standard accommodation, the room was small (fine) but the condition was more than tiered (pictured the damp bathroom ceiling). More than a good clean required. Dinner was nice, and service polite. Be prepared to pay surcharges. At checkout we werent asked how the stay had been- a strong suggestion that they know what the rooms are like. Sadly wouldnt recommend (had hoped the other reviews were just people expecting too much)

What a lovely 2days, a beautiful room with all the facilities, quality bedding, shower, underfloor heating and decor. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. I cannot believe the price for breakfast and dinner. I have been really shocked when reading some of the reviews. If you are after a travelodge - go to one! This is an amazing boutique hotel, filled with character and charm. Thank you Food & drinks: There are rules like any decent hotel and to pay a little extra for fillet steak is only 100% reasonable
