Bankes Arms Hotel

I have been here twice in the restaurant, cannot speak about the hotel, first visit was nice, although very busy and long wait. The second visit almost put me off visiting Corfe castle again... Staff was either ignoring you or not very welcoming, they looked unexperienced, hope they would learn soon. But when the food arrived, it was a totally different story. We were all impressed with the quality and flavour, and I am a fussy eater. Congratulations to the chef, will try to come back for that.

We stopped here for lunch before visiting the castle. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The good was great, the only problem we had was that the risotto was undercooked, the rice was hard in the centre. The staff offered to make another but I chose not to as the rest of the family were already eating and I didn't want them waiting around for another meal to cook. Otherwise the food was lovely. The soup was really tasty (leek and potato).
