Tried this guy first then gave up. He never had the part and after a week of waiting decided to try someone else. I called plumbed right and after finishing his job he turned up and fixed ours right away. Would highly recommend PLUMBED RIGHT who was cheap and pleasant.

Joss (Hometree) Jun 15, 2021, 8:25 GMT+1 Hi Charles, I would think twice before using this company, they installed a new boiler for me, had nothing but trouble with it and everyone who comes out to repair says it is an installation fault, the comments below are from my insurance company who again have said it is down to poor installation by Ian Duffy and co, they have cost me a small fortune due to cutting corners.Avoid DUFFY PLUMBING. Sadly this would be the case under any of our contracts. We ran this case past managers, the engineer, and the head of network to be sure of our answer, however the issue you have is one that would have been present at installation. The gas pipework here is unsatisfactory for a boiler to run safely and as such is an issue that pre-exists your cover with us. As I'm sure you're aware, we cannot cover works that pre-exist the insurance sign-up. I appreciate that there may not have been problems caused by this in the past, and I would like to point out that the pipework is not unsatisfactory for the boiler to run, it is unsatisfactory for the boiler to run for an extended period with safety. Ultimately we cannot cover this issue because a. it pre-exists the take-up of the contract and b. the issue is due to the work of the installation engineer, an engineer we did not send to the property. I understand that this is frustrating news and we do appreciate that repudiated claims are difficult for the customer. Avoid at all costs, this company fitted a new Baxi boiler, when British Gas done yearly landlords inspection, they informed me that heat exchange unit was leaking and needed repaired, we contacted Ian who fitted boiler, he said he would contact Baxi as it was still under warranty and they would do repair, we thought no more about it, as we did not live in the house, and the tenants never complained again until now the boiler has stopped working, we called out British Gas as Ian Duffy would not go out and look at problem they have told me repairs have not been done and they could not do work, I contacted Baxi customer service who informed me that they had not been informed about any fault in the past, this was after Ian Duffy had told me they went to property the day after I contacted him and could not gain access, this was a total lie, he never told me they were going as I would have let them in, my tenant has now no heating or hot water due to this and Ian does not care. Baxi Engineer has now had to fit new Heat Exchange Unit, cost of Unit is 250 + Labour luckily we got done under warranty, the engineer said he has never seen a unit so corroded in such a short time, I asked him the reason it was in such poor condition, and he said whoever fitted new boiler did not put any rust inhibitor back into system after they fitted, that would be IAN DUFFY, beware of this Company.
