I was really looking forward to dining here after reading the reviews but after our experience I would never recommend eating here. We arrived at 1720 and ordered two toad in the holes for a steep price when the kitchen opened at 1730. Our food arrived around 1800, which felt a long time, and tasted as though it had all been cooked from frozen. The food really was poor and seemingly had been waiting on a hot plate for a long time, the sausages were like rubber (so much so the first bite was spat out by my company!) and the gravy was cold. I couldnt understand the poor quality given that the kitchen had only just opened..? The drinks at the bar were quite cheap so I can imagine this is an ok place to go for a pint after work but I wont be returning unfortunately. I did consider complaining as I wouldve liked a refund given but the pub didnt have a very welcoming feel and I was worried about how it would be received by the one member of staff chatting with regulars seated by the bar. Very disappointed.
