Total lack of communication between employees with the family, and with each other. Really disappointed and upset with my experience with the Coop Funeral Parlour on Darleydale Road. We requested a closed casket but when my Brother went to see him in the parlour it was left open after 5 weeks, him also being a cancer patient it was not something that you would wish to see. Also requested a call back from the Funeral Director twice and was told he wouldnt call me back until the day before the funeral, despite my pleas of trying to organise timings around the funeral. This meant I had to cut my eulogy short. At the end of my Dads cremation the driver of the family car kindly offered to collect my Dads ashes and told me she would call me once she had collected them. Two weeks later when I asked about them, I was told I would have to collect them myself as it was in the original plan. Just to top that the Funeral Director the day before the funeral said my Mum (The grieving 80 year old widow) would have make her own way to the parlour or pay 200 for them to pick her up after paying nearly 6k for her husbands funeral. Once they were made aware of how distressed she was about this they agreed to pick her up. It felt like the staff had become desensitised to the impact of loss on a grieving family. Noticeable lack of empathy and sympathy that made us feel more like a number than a family.

From the first phone call all the way through they were polite friendly and professional. They were so helpful and supportive. It made it a carefree day know everything had been done. For being such and sad occasion they made it a celebration of my ex husbands life. I had been his carer for years when he passed I didn't know what to do but they made it so easy and they helped the whole way. I would recommend them.

The kindness, compassion and professional attitude was Outstanding. They even wore orange ties to match the men in the family. The order of service booklets were done to the highest standard. The piper they supplied Rob Muir was amazing and Shirley who walked in front of the hearse was fantastic. Every single staff member we dealt with was absolutely fantastic. The Fisher family
