I placed our first Earthy Creations order, for a 7" chocolate drip cake, last Thursday afternoon. It is for our Son, Alex's 21st Birthday. As it was a Bank Holiday weekend, I spoke with Marcell just before placing the order to check that it could be ready for collection by this Tuesday evening. Despite this not allowing Marcell his requested 3 working days turnaround, he said that he would have it ready in time. It was actually ready for collection a little ahead of the agreed 6pm pick up. Delivered with a wonderful broad smile by Marcell in person, direct to our car, together with a few boxed "extras" too - as a thank you for the order. What a lovely young man and what a nice touch! Marcell had given us a gentle caution that the Vegan chocolate cake was quite fragile and he hoped we had not far to travel. We returned the 8 miles home with the cake intact and lifted the lid. The cake was a veritable work of art. 7 inches wide, but also 7 inches tall. Quite a challenge to fit in our fridge overnight! Next morning, the cake, still in its box, was carefully placed in the rear footwell of our car and so began a slightly nervous 200 mile trip, returning our Son to Univerity in Lancaster. I'm delighted to say that the cake survived the journey North perfectly. Not only that, Alex insisted, before we left, that he cut the cake, so we could try it (it felt very stable, even when cutting the 1st 'awkward' slice. The cake was absolutely amazing! Delicious, moist and full wonderful, rich chocolate flavour. Alex's housemates got their first taste last night too and all seven (including 4 non-Vegans) said that cake was outstanding/delicious/best ever and could not believe that it was Vegan. Sentiments my wife and I completely agree with. We can all also agree that the chocolate chip cookies and brownie chunks (the 'extras') are completely delicious too. Marcell has delivered outstanding service and communication and a wonderful cake to boot (so good in fact, we've already ordered our 2nd from him, to collect next week). This guy does seriously good stuff! If you need Vegan, gluten and/or nut free (or especially, if like my wife and I, you don't), give him a try. You won't be disappointed.
