A gem of a place that has been on my list for a long time ! Its full of wonderful sculptures and the history of the house built in 1936. Really worth a visit and a tea room for coffee /tea and cakes .Its also free with tours on some days .If you are interested in architecture ,sculptures by Dora Gordine Russian Icons and the story of this fascinating couple then strongly recommend a visit .

I was really looking forward to my visit at the Dorich House Museum. I absolutely love art and have been captivated by Dora Gordines story for a long time. Although the collection and grounds did not disappoint, the same cannot be said for the staff. Lynesse (I think thats how you spell her name) could not have tried harder to make me feel out of place. She was cold, she was off, she was rude - but treated the other [white] patrons a lot differently. Despite Dorich House Museum making a blanket statement in 2020 attesting to its commitment to be anti-racist I dont believe Lynesse got the message. Its such a shame as the Dorich House Museum platforms art from different cultures, however, it seems that living people of colour are still not welcome within their spaces.
