Being new to the area we are still findingour way around.. how we've had missed this I've no idea . Whilst out in consett center we decided food was in order..went into the usual haunts, wetherspoons (VERY VERY Busy no seats free) and another cafe (no bread) ..But do you know what im really glad we found Pattersons tea rooms.. plenty of tables & seats..we got a table at the back of the tea room. Old style swing/jazz was playing through the speakers..The menu was small but i like that no arty food to bamboozle you ..The young waitress come over & told us the dish of the day and left us to decide what to order..we both opted for the sandwiches 1 tea & hot chocolate with the trimmings..The drinks arrived first, and the fresh made sandwiches we watched them being made..as you can see by my pics they were very tasty and i enjoyed the whole pot of tea . We paid before we left at the counter and was asked if everything was okay..we were very surprised at the low price of drinks & a bite to eat for 2 adults just over 10 which was a bargain..The young waitresses were very good and all had smiles on their faces and very chatty to other customers who were clearly happy to chat back to them 10/10.. more than happy we have this gem on our doorstep and will definitely be visiting again very soon..
