Oh dear, this shop is going to be so dangerous (to my bank balance). Didn't think there were many of these shops left, and to find it in our local town, how lucky am I. Staff friendly, and very knowledgeable regarding the stuff they sell, french chic paint for me this time, at a reasonable price, actually cheaper than bog standard gloss paint in b&q. But there are haberdashery items, wool, buttons etc, plus crafting supplies. Didn't take it all in to be honest. Plus there is a watercolour class on a Tuesday and Friday. Only 6.50. Can't paint, but might give it a go, after I've upcycled my dresser.

Another lovely little craft shop in Consett. The front of house is all about wool, knitting, crochet etc. Through the back is a good assortment of artist materials, ribbons and threads, and assorted other craft items. I noticed stuff for lino cutting, wax melts, card making, glues, buttons, different kinds of pens, markers and pencils, acrylic, oil and Watercolour paints, different art papers etc. If you want a craft knife or scissors etc then just ask, there's a good selection behind the till. The prices are very good, mostly cheaper than the high Street and some as good as online but, of course, with the personal touch. There's a very nice lady behind the till who was very helpful. We've been back a few times now!

Been in a couple of times for patterns and the young lady in the shop was really helpful and pleasant chatted about all kinds. now Ive found this shop Ill be going back more and more.
