Sweethart Bistro, Bakery and Coffee shop

A lovely breakfast, for the perfect start to the day. The staff were very professional, polite, and helpful. The food was fresh, full of taste, and cooked to perfection. The bakery is warm and welcoming, with great pictures of Consett and Blackhill from older times.

Went on Friday morning for a breakfast date with the hubby. I ordered eggs, salmon benedict, he ordered sausage breakfast hash. Quite disappointed at what we were served. Mine I was expecting to be poached or at least soft bolied eggs on sourdough as stated. What I got were two very hard eggs served on a partially toasted white bun which tasted stale. His was far too greasy, somehow with undercooked bacon and overcooked sausage chunks. My coffee was tasty but just lukewarm. Hopefully a one off as I've had nice lunch and cake from here before. Won't be back for breakfast though. No one asked how our meal was when clearing the plates, although from the amount we left it was probably obvious. A shame, and at 8.50 definitely not worth it.
