Low Hallgarth is a National Trust cottage sitting in a very pretty bit of countryside with lots of wonderful walks nearby, and was owned at one point by Beatrix Potter. Small kitchen and bathroom. Comfy big bedroom, plus a bunk room. Chilly in the winter months as one might expect, and not quite as inviting/cozy as I was hoping for a small group of three. Truly harrowing drive. I have no idea how we managed to get our Toyota Corolla back there and up the hill to the house multiple times on rainy March days without damage, but we did--I just can't recommend it for anyone who doesn't have nerves of steel or a preferably-skinny 4x4 (the stone walls along the road are very tight). I would love to stay in this area again, but would probably opt to be across the bridge at the Three Shires Inn or somesuch.
