Took two parcels to this 'Premier' shop (a week apart), drop-offs for UPS (I had paid extra for 'One-Day Delivery') as they are the nearest location (the next being Margaret's Shop in Mexborough, four miles away). The first time I was told to drive back the next day - they wouldn't accept the parcel because the 'driver had gone' (why does this mean I cannot leave it with them? Nuts!). This I did, going back the following day, much to my annoyance. Then, today I took the second... even though I was half an hour before last collection (at 11am) I was told they would not accept my parcel because they 'had too many' (wha..?!) and to come back again tomorrow. This I point blank refused to do (I certainly wasn't driving to Mexborough!) and said I was going to leave the parcel with them. They picked up the parcel and told me to 'get out of the shop'. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. At this point I thought it best to record what was going on for UPS to show them what I was having to put up with (again), but the shopkeeper's assistant then decided to intervene and began shouting and threatening me, before the pair of them physically assaulted me, thrusting the parcel into my hand as they shoved me out of the door. I drove home, very upset. I'm not a person for violence and confrontation, but I found this episode completely embarrassing and distressing. I called UPS to complain the moment I got in, telling them that these people were not fit to be representing their company, and it was time to find another store. I was recompensed and an immediate despatch sent out to make up for this pathetic treatment. If they cannot handle the number of parcels they get dropped off, don't be a drop-off point. Simple as that. Being downright RUDE to customers, for whatever reason - particularly when it is unprovoked and the customer is 100% IN THE RIGHT - is unacceptable. Obviously, some people cherish this local store, and value it highly, but I didn't get this friendly treatment from the two gentlemen working there. Currently, I could not recommend this shop. Maybe they would like to issue an apology..?
