GGs coffee hub

Just spotted a couple of negative reviews here, that I cannot for the life of me understand. My wife and I and our dog walk to the Mere nearly every Saturday, and get a coffee and a snack from GG's. The staff are always lovely and friendly, and we look forward to our visit and treat every week. It's become a very popular place now, and combined with a walk around - or just taking a seat to enjoy the view - the lake, it's a real asset to the area. Some folk will complain about anything!

Worst service I can ever recall in a coffee shop. Miserable & obstinate. A request to have my espresso in the cup I provided was met with a tirade of garbage: "we don't do that"..."Why not?"..."We only use takeaway cups... we put lids on". Most coffee shops realise the environmental folly of disposable cups & stupid lids that get removed & thrown away in seconds. Not here. The unfriendly attitude continued when our 2yr old walked down the side of the shop. Glares through the window were soon followed by being ordered away. Absolutely no idea of what it takes to deal with customers. Will bring my own coffee on future visits to the lake. This place needs to change its attitude before this customer ever returns.

Excellent Coffee, great tea cakes! Always look forward to a visit when at the lake. Staff pleasant & helpful. Parking: Large car park - 50p.
