This is possibly the loveliest pub within 5 miles of Bath. Superb historical interior, lovely food, genuinely friendly service, rooms if you want to stay, the most beautiful beer garden AMYWHERE and I think it still has a helicopter landing area. Beat that! Seriously visit but book if you want to eat. Oh yes and also they love and welcome dogs!

We enjoyed the griddle steak & chips - quite salty but tasty. The begging house dogs should be more. controlled ... one put its chin on partners lap and dribbled on their trousers. I mentioned the dogs to staff & suggested they ask owners to keep them under their table and was told they were the house dogs !! ... allowed to roam freely. Sorry, the place may be dog friendly, but for me, restaurants and dribbling dogs do not go together.
