Not the prettiest, definitely not photogenic, and their croissant is amazing. I love it but what do I know. I do see French regular customers there all the time so that probably means a bit more. Croissant is 2.70 (2023), a bit pricey I'd say but possibly my favourite in London. Not enormous filled with air, not fall-apart-flaky... just some soft layers that smell and taste like butter, comes in an unpretentious paper bag. Girls are nice too. They aren't showcased in the window, you have to go right in and you'll see them on baking racks or by the register.

I recently visited this bakery and while the food was decent but still not yummy, except the Galette which had no taste, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The prices were incredibly expensive for what we received, and we left feeling like we had overpaid for average French baked goods. To make matters worse, the managers were incredibly rude and even made jokes at clientss expense after they left. It was extremely unprofessional and left a sour taste in our mouths.

Fantastic pastries, I go to when I'm in Portobello road. It's as good as the ones you find in France, and I've sampled quite a few when I was there.
