A lovely long weekend. Helpful host, special decor (the lights in the living room were my favourite), very clean, thoughtful welcome pack, very light with lots of windows (don't walk around the bedrooms with the curtains open), excellent outdoor space with a covered patio with a proper roof and skylight (see photos), big comfy bed, good shower. We had a great takeaway delivered from Vanilla Bean. If you're a fan of proper burgers the owner's place, Rumpus, is very well reviewed. Book several days in advance. Good local shops for self catering. Nice walks from the door, one footpath in front of the house goes down through the wood next to a stream, and one behind the house goes up to a style on the right where you can walk across the field with lovely views. We also went to Merrydale Clough for a very British picnic in the rain. The area is quiet and there was very little farm noise (it smells like a farm but you should expect that!) Lifted our spirits after shielding.
