Messenger Construction Ltd - Head Office

I would like to thank the team at Messenger Construction Ltd who were the contractor assigned by our insurance company to replace our on suite bathroom after damage caused by an ongoing leak (see the before and after photo). Messenger BCR Group specialise in Insurance Related Repairs and did a great job. A special thank you to Duncan Price for organising everything and to Luke for great workmanship. Prior to Messenger getting involved we had been given 2 options by the insurance company - Get quotes from local contractors or use a network contractor such as Messenger. We opted to go for option 1 which we thought would be quicker - it wasn't and we were let down by the Loss Adjuster and after 5 months nothing had been done. However as soon as Messenger got involved the whole thing was sorted out efficiently and to a very high standard. Within 1-2 months the work was completed to a very high standard and the process went like a dream. Luke has been exceptional and not only worked and delivered at a high level he was also a pleasure to have in our home. It was really refreshing that both Duncan and Luke see solutions rather than problems which is rare these days. - I have seen some negative reviews on this site but this certainly was not the experience we had. The new bathroom has been worth the wait! Thank you.

My experience with Messenger has only been a positive one. Communication was slow for a time but this was down to my case manager leaving the company - after my case was transferred to Steve, things moved forward at pace. I'm not going to hold it against them, these things happen. Jez and his team (Ken, Rob and Rob) were excellent. So polite and professional and the work done to such a high standard. I really couldn't be happier.

Horrendous experience, insurer's loss adjuster appointed them. They did a fraction of the value of work they seem to have invoiced my insurer for, and left the listed building in a far worse state than when started. Took over a year to get to that stage, and now have insurer having to instruct a proper firm to come back and repair the original issue + fix the damages caused by this bunch of...

I would NOT recommend this company. My parents bungalow flooded in July 2021. Insurance company instructed this firm Ian was our contact. Lots of excuses about when the job was starting. Eventually they started mid November 2021 I had to tell them the floorboards were warped, so they got replaced, Ian then agreed with me, why he didn't put it on the quote in the first place, they sent guy in ripping up floorboards and stripping out. The same guy had only been in the job a few months, told my mum he was a chef in a hotel 3 months prior!!! Caused alarm bells so went to check the work he had done (laying new floor boards on twisted joists) it was shocking, I could have laid better floorboards, he didnt even have his own tools they were all hired. Three weeks working there with no port aloo at the property for him. Told them it was unacceptable in a meeting with Ian and the Loss adjusters to discuss the situation. Never heard a word from them again after saying he would get back to us that afternoon, so I told the insurance company to find us proper builders. Cant believe they feel its acceptable to put people through 5 months of extra stress when theyve already lost their home and losing my dad as he had to go into a care home. This company seem to get unskilled workman on the job so they can cream the profit off the insurance company who agree an upfront figure with them. I would stay well clear of them. So unprofessional. Attitude of Ian who's a Director is very poor.
