Nice little cafe to pick up a sandwich or coffee. Its within the Westworks building to the right - anyone can walk in but there is a 10% discount for staff within the building. The lady on the counter was so lovely! Really kind. The sandwich I had was chicken/Avo/mayo - very heavy handed on the mayo. Much too much. It was a club sandwich (three pieces of bread) which I found cumbersome. I would prefer thinner bread and just two smaller sandwiches.

This tea house situated in the heart of bustling central London. I pampered myself here one beautiful afternoon after a long walk. The beautiful tea room with paper flower wall & ceiling really made my day. A cozy tea room to relax and meet up.

My favourite coffee/cake place in the area. Lovely staff, better coffee (and better value) than local Starbucks. Plus incredible cakes and pastries. Highly recommend!

It was a fine Tuesday afternoon and I was eager to take in the sights and sounds of White City. Mind you, it had been some time since I traversed 0.4 miles, and my trunk and limbs are not attuned for aerobics. My (dis)array of black T-shirts (or charcoal - curse you, London hard water!) and Lidl trousers have grown tired of the dual role of apron and napkin, so I decided to smear them with the keen readiness and anticipation of visiting a local sugar shack - or, as Londoners call it, "bakery". I Googled the place beforehand to gain a sense of the ambiance and curb appeal. My gut churned with anticipation (and stomach acid, I presume). The whimsical font and sylvan decor is a charming complement to the sterile surroundings - indeed it is a welcome re-treat (see what I did there?!) within an office building enclave. But, quite frankly, the hashtags and sardonic platitudes written on the chalkboards is a bit old hat. I expect to be greeted by enticing samples and automatic doors - instead, my intelligence (and physique) was insulted with the phrase "fitness whole cake into my mouth" that was ubiquitously emblazoned. I'll have you know that as a a masterful wordsmith (see aforementioned pun) this sophomoric attempt at wittiness made me choke . . . just a little bit. Nonetheless, I was tempestuously tantalized by the decadent display, and decided to visit the store. The wind was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to send soup back at a deli. I was about 10 feet away when suddenly, a great beast appeared before me: a "Closed" sign. My efforts were in vain - how could this be! I had fondly flicked through each Google photo, silently praising the blood sugar spike that would ensure with each coinciding bite of pastry (I'm a diabetic). Well, no more - thou art a boil, a plague sore, an embossed carbuncle in my corrupted blood. It bears mentioning that I put on my best bicorne that day, a welcome departure from the fedora that I usually sport. I made my way back to my flat disgruntled, discontent and distended (too much Mountain Dew for breakfast). Although I endured this disappointment with great fortitude, I leave you with this: Butterscotch Bakery?! Nah, "Better Not" Bakery!
