Despite calling ahead and getting directions from Heathrow, I took the wrong road that they specifically told me to avoid b/c it is very narrow and winding. So it is a little tricky to get here. However, once you do, it is worth it! This is a manor house tucked into a quiet neighborhood. It has an air of history that you do not get at most places. Also the small village is very quaint and always what I pictured the typical English countryside to be. We arrived late in the evening after dark due to taking the wrong road. Initially the place seemed foreboding, however on we met the owners, they immediately made us feel welcome. We stayed in November 2019, during the offseason so were the only family in the entire house. We stayed in a large room that was make for many more guests. What really stood out were all the little amenities that we never saw before like a towel drying rack and hot tea in our room. The most important aspect of any place you spend at night is whether you are well-rested, and definitely got lots of rest. The beds are soft and the neighborhood is quiet. The hosts were kind enough to provide a continental breakfast so we could continue our whirlwind tour of England quickly. Overall, highly recommended!
